Top Drawer eNewsletter 10.11.12

We’d like to thank everyone who came to the reception for Top Drawer’s Group Exhibition at AS220!  We had a great turnout as lots of artists and admirers of Outsider and Contemporary Art mingled, listened to some live music, and had a great time!  For those that missed it the show will stay up for view until October 26th, so go see the show while you can!  Top Drawer Group Exhibition, AS220 Main Gallery, 115 Empire St., Providence.

October moves on and is turning out to be a very busy month for us!  At Top Drawer the current show is Multimedia: Theresa Medeiros and Paul Martland!  Both of these artists test the limits of what “art” is, and somehow meld different media to fit their unique styles.  Theresa, who had the 2006 hit exhibit Pants Shop at Top Drawer (where the artist hung her hundreds of drawings of pants on clotheslines across the gallery wall), is now painting “Glass Bottles” that resemble colorful beach balls, as well as creating 3-D work that complements her painting perfectly.  Paul, who had the 2008 exhibit Blueprint, is still working on his endless black-blueprint drawing project as well as creating 3-D work that are like abstract extensions of the structures in his blueprints.  Both of these artists’ work is completely dedicated, exuberant and unique, and deserves to be seen by a wider audience!  See their work at the annual open house, the Warren Walkabout, Sunday October 21st!  More info on the Warren Walkabout to come…

If you can’t make the Walkabout, stop by the next Art Night, Thursday October 25th, 5 pm – 8 pm, for the reception for Multimedia: Theresa Medeiros and Paul Martland!

Until then, keep on supporting the arts in RI!
